J. Moore
Dr. Ernest J. Moore is the Chair of the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, University of North Texas. He earned a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Tennessee State University, M.A. in Audiology from Northern Illinois University, and Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders with a specialization in Audiology from The University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Moore is a member of several scholarly, scientific, and professional societies, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association for Research in Otolarynology, the Society of Neuroscience, and the International Collegium of Rehabilitative Audiology, of which he is a charter member. Dr. Moore has received numerous awards, fellowships, and grants, including those from the National Institutes of Health, Deafness Research Foundation, and the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Moore comes to UNT from Northwestern University in Chicago, where he received an appointment to Research Professor and Knowles Scholar in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Biological Chemistry/Center for Drug Discovery and Chemical Biology in the Feinberg School of Medicine. He has also taught at Emerson College, Memphis State University, Howard University, and Michigan State University. He has authored many written works not only as an individual but also in collaboration with other scholars. Dr. Moore's current research interest lies in the investigation of molecular ion channel activity of dissociated hair cells in zebra fish.
